[Options Premium] Flip Phone Memories

April 16, 2021

I have fond memories of my very first cellular phone in 1995. I was still in college and had a "job" selling advertising for the local arts & entertainment newspaper in town. One of the perks of the job was having a cellphone so I could be reached at any time.

In 1995, having a flip phone (that barely fit in my pocket), was pretty cool. Or at least I thought I was...

I'm headed down this nostalgic lane thanks to today's trade idea.

Breaking Through The Glass

April 14, 2021

The latest Young Aristocrats research piece is out and a trade idea that immediately caught my eye is one that is currently breaking through the proverbial glass ceiling.

This manufacturer of glass and fiberclass products is finally breaking out of a 3-year base.

[Options Premium] An Unlikely Spring Forecast

April 12, 2021

During our latest Options Conference call, me and JC riffed on a couple potential trades -- one of which I wanted to wait a bit on, since it's not a type of play I do with great frequency.

Well, on Friday, the stock had a nice little pullback nearer to recent IPO support which offers us a nice opportunity to get positioned at a bit of a discount, so I'm going to pull the trigger today.

A Breakout to Unite Us All!

April 7, 2021

JC and I recorded our latest options conference call last night (subscribers can access it here). We discussed some trades that were exited last month, updated some current positions, and discussed a couple new ideas.

One of the new ideas discussed was a bullish breakout in United Therapeutics $UTHR. And I'm ready to pull the trigger today.

[Options Premium] Monthly Conference Call

April 6, 2021

Hey everyone -

JC and I put together this months Options Conference call and it was one of my favorites yet!

We discussed positions we closed out in Google in Biotechs, as well as some of the trades we have on that are worth an update. There are a few new ideas on our radar and we get into some of that as well so you can get a little bit of a behind the scenes look at our thought process.

Enjoy!

[Options] Monthly Positions Review - March

April 5, 2021

Once again this month, I'm going to share info on positions that were closed in the month of March. As a reminder, our exit plans are always laid out ahead of time in each trade idea we publish. In every case, the exits mentioned below were all exited in accordance with the plan as laid out.

[Options Premium] Think Globally, Bank Locally

March 31, 2021

Anybody else tired of the big banks? Their lack of personal attention, the formulaic approach to lending, the fees, etc?

I stopped banking with "big banks" a long time ago, now doing my personal and business banking with a local bank in my community.

So it's nice to see the team talking about bullish developments and trade ideas in the Regional banking space in the latest RPP Report.

[Options Premium] Can't Stop Lovin' the Semis

March 29, 2021

The latest 2-to-100 Club Report is out with a handful of actionable names to participate in.

These aren't trades where we expect a face-ripping rally to imminently commence. But we do think there are underlying trends that can propel these names higher over the next 3-6 months.

With that in mind, I've got a trade in November options on deck to play one of my favorites from this report.

[Options Premium] I Like the Sound of This

March 26, 2021

The recent pullbacks we've seen in a number of momentum names is offering us some advantageous opportunities to buy into some stocks we like at better prices.

One stock in particular is making a beautiful sound as it attracts my attention.

[Options] Settle Down, Interest Rates!

March 24, 2021

We've seen quite a move lower in $TLT (which moves inversely to interest rates) since this summer.

Is the bottom in?

My crystal balls says: "Don't ask me stupid questions." So, that's no help.

But here's what I know:

  • Implied volatility priced into $TLT options is relatively high, though declining from recent high levels.
  • We have a clearly defined level (of perhaps temporary) support at $133.
  • High volatility gives us the ability to short options and gives us plenty of room to be wrong and still make money.

The bet I'm making is $TLT is going to chop around in a bit of a range over the next 2-6 weeks and this will cause volatility to contract.

So here's how I'm going to play it:

[Options Premium] Impressive Strength to Buy

March 19, 2021

US Stocks have been a bit dicey since yesterday afternoon as we're seeing a lot of high beta names get chopped down. This is never fun if you've been riding trends.

But when markets get turbulent, the strongest stocks and future leaders tend to reveal themselves. And that's what I'm seeing right now in a popular name.
